By large, I mean easily having over 2 million people within 45 minutes away and having at least 3 major sports teams (sorry Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Kansas City).
Your opinions?

you shouldn't have included Chicago if you wanted an interesting poll

While Chicago could be exciting with great nightlife, I know there is strong urban decay there and bad race relations, particulary when compared to the other "national" cities, NY and LA, where I don't see how it's such a lock according to this poll so far.

Ummm, race relations in L.A. are just as bad in Chicago, and those cities mentioned also have lots of urban decay, too. The reason its leading the poll is because the positives FAR outweigh the negatives. The city is amazing, with endless amenities and things to do, an incredible downtown, amazing diversity, cheaper COL than the coasts, incredible suburbs, wonderful arts/sports/dining/etc.

If Chicago wasnt on this poll, I would have chosen Minneapolis, which is very nice as well, just a lot smaller.

I've seen a lot more interracial couples in LA, then I have in Chicago, often that tells you something.
Besides, Chicago has fans that go on to ball fields and beat up 1st base coaches

Out of curiosity, have you ever been to Chicago? Something about this post makes it seem like maybe you haven't.

There are TONS of interracial couples in Chicagoland. TONS. And while the Sox might have some trailertrash fans who decide to whoop up on some KC first base coaches, at least we dont lead cops on high-speed chases on national TV every 15 seconds of every day, as is custom in L.A.
