Well, when I worked in DC I used to paraphrase Robert Duvall in Apocalypse Now and say, "I love the smell of urine in the morning."

Hodge, LA (south of Ruston and southwest of Monroe) has a large cardboard plant that causes a bad smell.

Anyone who is curious as to what a paper mill smells like, it is like a mixture of rotten eggs, dog s--t, bad foot odor, and wood chips. Three of those smells would be horrible on their own, but the four smells combine to make super horrible odor.

Very similar to Midland, Texas. I drove through there on the I-20 to get to Tucson and Los Angeles and I swear it smelled like flatulence. Refineries as far as the eye can see! I've been to Houston and it didn't smell so hot either.

Yesterday I road my bicycle around Kennesaw and there was a stench in the air that smelled literally like human excrement, of both kinds.

Well down the road from me is a chicken house which smells terrible when you drive by. Thank goodness I can't smell it from my house!

I agree with San Francisco. I used to have to walk from the BART station to work on Golden Gate Ave. and every bush I passed reeked of urine. All the bums in that city definitely contribute to the stench!

Sometimes it smells like excrement around here when the ocean stirs up the water in the mangroves, the smell is surprisingly bad. However, nothing is worse than taking an elevator in Miami Metrorail or in some run-down apartment buildings. The urine smell is overpowering. You can also get some pretty intense urine and garbage scents in the Miami Beach area. The good thing is that the constant flow of air and lack of meaningful industry means our air is cleaner than most. The worst urine and garbage scent definately has to be NYC.
