Southern Rhode Island should be it's own state so those fatcats in Providence can't dominate ALL 40 towns. It is just very geographically and culturally different.

Random fact that would need to change if Puerto Rico became a state. Currently Puerto Rican's can't vote for the president in November (they can vote in primaries) but the funny thing is, the PR military still serves under the US and the Commander in Chief, despite not being able to vote for him.

i'm born and raised southern rhode island/South county, westerly to be exact. It is very different from providence, but i still enjoy being a rhode islander and woundn't want to be a different state.

I live in Massac Co IL.....heard of Metropolis, Home of Superman? PPL seem to forget that there is a southern part of IL. Some think Springfield. Chicago is the leach, the blood sucker of the state! Chicago drains every other part of the state. I want IL to be split in half, North IL and South IL. It would be much better for the others from Springfield down. This is a good area to raise your family. May not be much here but we're only 2.5 hrs from St Louis and Nashville, two great cities. Only 12 hrs from PCB, FL. So not a bad area. So Chicago can keep all their crime and dirty governers up there, we are fine down here.

Puerto Rico. There has been talk of this since I was a kid in the 1950s.

Let's make Puerto Rico a state already so we can ease into gentrifying old San Juan with a massive influx of hipsters.

JerichoHW, I almost voted for Bermuda, and all that it would imply. This is an age of consolidation. May need to restore the old British Empire.

Bermuda would be a nice add-on, but it's nothing like the US. When I was there I felt like I was in a tropical UK. PR seemed way more like the US.

The most likely was left off the list...the District of Columbia.
