Why must you be so smug and condascending in just about every reply involving California? You think it's the best thing since sliced cheesecake. We've got it! What's "kinda sad, really" is that you can't seem to comprehend that there are indeed 49 other states around which are loved and adored by others who can see the true beauty in them. Hell, even New Jersey has a lot of beautiful sites, even though it is the butt of so many cruel jokes. Lord knows I can bore you all with thousands of breathtaking images from here in Northeastern Pennsylvania as well. "Best" has many different connotations to many different people. Yes, California is very, very beautiful, but have you checked housing prices in the majority of the state lately? YIKES! What good is living amongst such sheer beauty if you have to work 60 hours per week in order to afford a home there?
This thread should be called "What state do you live in?"
I was thinking the same exact thing. With a population approaching 40,000,000, it's no surprise whatsoever that CA likely has a hefty number of posters on this forum, hence its commanding lead.
i live in IL. i shld say IL. i live in a state whose city has always ALWAYS been in the greatest/best/top city ever list along with NY.. ALWAYS. but.. i cant wait to get out of here. probably coz i lived here for a loong time. i wanna try living in other states. CA is defintely NOT on my list coz i feel like im going back home to the Philippines.. same weather.. MOST Filipinos also live there.. and i KNOW there are a lot of filipino restaurants and store there too.. so no thanks... as to the the question.. ive always wanna try to go to vermont or rhode island. never been there though. thats why i wanna TRY livng/moving there.
I live in Kentucky but I think Illinois's the best state. Until you retire; Illinois is a great place to make a living and Kentucky is a great place to lay back.
I've lived all over this beautiful country as an Army "brat" and have to say that my favorite place is South Western Missouri, hands down!
Friendly people, scenic natural beauty all around and reasonable cost of living.
I'm sooo glad we found this area, but, please, don't tell anyone, so it doesn't get too crowded!
