Bergen County is more upscale, wealthier and most important, Bergen is close to the best city in the world - NYC!

Yea, saying Bergen County is more upscale, wealthier are not accurate, from wikipedia... "It is one of the most affluent counties in the nation[1], and has the highest percentage (29.2%) of residents over 25 years old that hold an advanced degree." and MoCo is more diverse than Bergen county...

Based on those stats, they seem similar as far as being upscale and wealthy. I think its safe to say you'll make good money in either. LOL

I lived in Upper Nyack and commuted to Paramus and I think Northern NJ is probably more my preference since its so close to NY.

Both are power suburbs though. LOL

I really could care less about the median income, but there are much more millionaires, much wealthier and powerful i.e. moguls living in Bergen County than in Montgomery County. Being in both, Bergen County seems more luxurious than Montgomery County. It looks more upscale.

It also has much higher home values. Not to mention it's a suburb of NYC which is a +++++++ and pushes it far ahead of Montgomery County.

With that said, I hate suburbs (with the exception of Greenwich, CT) so it really doesn't matter to me.

Why do you care?

I would definately choose Montgomery County over Bergen County any day. Bergen County more upscale? I don't think so. Route 4 and 17 in Bergen is filled with endless tacky strip malls for miles.
