I've noticed that the forum tends to be a bit...biased. Some cities are dramatically over-hyped, while others are bashed relentlessly. So I though it would be nice to dedicate a thread to the positive aspects of the latter group.

In this tread, say something positive about one of our frequently-bashed cities:
-Los Angeles
-Phoenix
-Dallas
-Detroit
-Gary, Indiana
-Miami
-Orlando
-Atlanta

No place is completely bad. These cities could use some positive recognition too.

(If I forgot a frequently-bashed city, let me know, and I'll add it. These are just the ones I see belittled most often.)

Phoenix has beautiful saguaro cactus throughout the city and great winter weather.
Dallas has a vibrant a growing economy and good sport teams and facilities
Detroit has some great early 20th century architecture in downtown
Gary Indiana has an important steel plant and is near the Indiana Sand Dunes on Lake Michigan.
Miami has some of the best beaches of a major city in America, a growing skyline, and vibrant Latin community.
Orlando has a overwhelming amount of family entertainment options from Disney to Gatorland.
Atlanta has a growing economy, the largest airport, good music scene, and television networks like CNN, Cartoon Network, and the Weather Channel

I think this is a great thread. Its good to same something nice about a place and reduce all the negativity on the forums.

In addition to the cacti, Phoenix also has some beautiful mountain terrain. Great for hikers.

Despite it's inner-city reputation, Detriot actually has some very nice suburbs.

Atlanta has a great job market, and it's very lush and green.

-Detroit: great musical past; Belle Isle is wonderful

Omaha, duh, just kidding.

On a serious note, St. Louis and Indianapolis

Sorry I don't have time right now to write about the cities on the list so I'll do it later if I remember

Los Angeles has great shopping, world-reknowned universities, and fantastic weather year round. I love going to L.A. to see the broadway shows that tour through.
