god i hope so....

but i doubt it. i don't think it wants to be really. i think the ACC tower is more to show the world that Philly is still an international player and not just a crime zone. the tower (if built) hopefully will lure a big global corporation away from NYC and spark center city with more retail, restaurants, movie theatre...and draw more residents..

love this rendering (view from the stadiums) although not sure if it should be a little closer to the CC

How would it be the Third Tallest, it would be fourth!!

This is how it would really stand, based on height to Spire/Antennea. It would be Fourth, I also found a couple articles that mention it as fourth.

1. Chicago Spire
2. Freedom Tower
3. Sears Tower
4. American Commerce Center

Sources:
Is Center City Philadelphia ready to take on a ... SUPER SKYSCRAPER | Philadelphia Inquirer | 06/30/2008

The Roof of the Sears tower curently stands at, 1,451 ft (442 m)
with the additon of the antenna it is 1,730 ft (527 m)

The Roof of the American Commerce Center will top out at 1,210 ft (369 m).
With the Spire 1,500 ft (457 m)

If you can count a decorative spire, why not an antenna. In fact numerous sites like wikipedia, emporis and others include the spire/antenna as one.

Im not trying to ignite contreversy, even though I am, but what makes a spire that serves no purpose, different from an antenna that transmits radio signals, and adds to the size of the building, just as a spire.

Nope, definently THIRD

Ok, Here is the thing, They are PERFECTLY correct when they say Third. Antennas do not count because they are for communication while spires a part of a towers design. I don't make the rules, so don't argue with them, people have been for years, but nothing changes

Who does make the rules Billiam, whos to say that a antenna is not also for decorative purposes?

Antennas are meant for communication, not decoration and it doesn't matter if they're placed in a certain way to make them look like a decoration, they're still primarily used for communication. And Im not sure who created the rules exactly, but its a widely spread rule, here's what skyscraperpage.com says:

The official height of a building is the maximum of the roof and/or spire heights.

If a building does not have a spire, such as the Sears Tower, then its official height is its roof height. If a building does have a spire, such as the Petronas Towers, then its official height is its spire height.

Im sure there is something on wikipedia that will tell you something also

Antennas aren't considered part of a building's official height because, if that's how we looked at things, the tallest "buildings" in the country would be several radio masts in the Dakotas and elsewhere, followed down the list by the Sears Tower.
