I have traveled very extensively, often to urban areas as much as rural areas. Some of the cities Im about to list I only had a short time to spend in, but here are my 10 faves so far... You didnt mention size, so Ive included all my faves, ranging from tiny towns to major metropolis.

(not in any particular order)

1. Seattle, WA
2. NYC, NY
3. Denver, CO
4. Chicago, IL
5. Santa Fe, NM
6. Boston, MA
7. Carefree/North Scottsdale, AZ
8. Fish Creek, WI
9. Minneapolis, MN
10. Madison, WI

San Fran was really cool, no doubt, just waaaay too expensive, IMO. I know, I know, I have NYC on there, but NYC seems more worth the $$$. Just my opinion...
