Here in Scottsdale, we enjoy a very high quality of life, all the while our cities population is around a quarter of a million, and growing! LA has some amazing suburban cities, but at the end of the day, Scottsdale can be proven to be more successful as a result of our size. Of course, what is Bellevue, Washington's population again?
There's no such thing as a good suburb. They're all basically the same.
Not true! Brookline, MA; Hoboken, NJ; Miami Beach, FL; and Beverly Hills, CA are all suburbs which feel far more urban than most of this country's cities.

Hoboken? Sorry NYC, but Hoboken is a small city on the other side of the Hudson. That does not make it a suburb. Is Jersey City a suburb too? Is Paterson NJ a suburb? Is Union City? Sub - Urban means less than urban.
These places have been established cities for many, many years with dense populations (for its size).
By your standards, is Queens NY a suburb?
It was farm land & basically the boonies well after places like Hoboken, Jersey City, Paterson & Union City had row houses, tenements & a main districts. Fully formed cities.
Just because it was annexed by NYC does not make it city, by your standrds, right?
You are letting your provincalism get ahead of your logic my friend.
Levittown Long Island, Paramus New Jersey. Those are suburbs........ Hoboken, not so much. Sorry NYC!
Well if the BosWash Corridor continues pushing into Pennsylvania I will be able to say SCRANTON is officially a suburb of NYC by 2050! LOL!
