Lollapalooza is way better than Taste of Chicago. Taste of Chicago is no where near the city's best event.

I'm a huge Chicago partisan, but I've got to admit that Summerfest is overall a more enjoyable experience. Normally, crowds don't faze me at all, but the amount of people at the Taste can be crushing.

For those old enough to remember Chicagofest the "Taste" sucks.
Summerfest wins.

Well to be honest with you. Regardless of the Taste, with Lolla and Pitchfork in Chicago, Summerfest has lost it's luster. It's seemingly a lot more po' dunk than it used to seem.

Summerfest. Lolla blows and the taste hasn't been cool since the early 2000s.

Here in Chicago, I'd have to say the realization pretty much would be Summerfest.

I very much enjoyed Summerfest but haven't been there in ages. I went to Summerfest in 1976, 1979, 1981, 1982 and 1987.

My favorite was 1982. I was a teenager and took my best friend who never had been to Milwaukee before. We had so much fun. It was a magical trip, Summerfest and everything else we did in Milwaukee. He contacted me around 10 years ago and told me he played on stage at Summerfest (as part of the band Third Eye Blind) and he got the goosebumps because he remembered our 1982 trip.

I have only been to Taste of Chicago once..in 1987. I enjoyed it but yeah it's a totally different thing compared to Summerfest.

Out of curiosity since I havent stepped foot in Milwaukee (the city I was born in) since 1990. Is the smiling face still the Summerfest symbol?
