I'm not too sure but it will involve the beach somehow like it does every year. Usually we have a big set up with a canopy, boombox, bbq, beer pong table, horseshoes, lots of beer, etc....but some freakin old fear mongering Nazi's took away our right to drink alcohol on all San Diego beaches for a year and other communities followed suit. So it will be interesting to see what the beaches will be like this year, the fun party atmosphere of Pacific Beach is slowly being killed by hypocritical residents who think they are the majority around here.
Enjoy your family party. I'm kinda jealous, wish we had family here to invite to a party!
We lived here 16 years before we had any family here. Then my brother got a divorce, and his ex-wife, her 2nd husband, and the kids moved here. Now I see my ex-sister-in-law more often than I see my brother!

We did see some pretty cool fireworks there once, by Rosenblatt Stadium, but I think Pittsburgh has the best! LOL

My daughter, whose bd it is, is a vegetarian. No worries about seeing her eating a hamburger in her car.

By the good graces of God I'm getting July 3 and July 5 off from work and am only working 6 AM-12 PM on Friday the 4th, so I can actually enjoy myself for the first Independence Day in many years. My best friend (yet not quite a "f*g hag") Meg will be hosting an awesome multi-day party at her family's lake house. I'm already looking forward to waking up on Saturday morning to the smell of bacon while slipping into the front porch hot tub overlooking the mist rising from the lake after a night of watching revelers in that upscale suburb shooting off fireworks left and right. This is going to be awesome!!!
