Anyone else here live in an area where your neighborhood actually looks like a war zone every Fourth Of July? I used to look forward to the 4th, but not since it's gotten this way- M-80's constantly, heavy smoke that's so thick ya' can gag on it, etc. It's so bad that I know of several families whose toddlers & younger kids don't even like to be out on the 4th. If there's not a place like this, where people are actually out & about on the 4th, without trying to blow up their own neighborhoods, please speak up

War zone? Some folks may get a bit carried away, but I figure it saves me money. I can sit back and watch them shoot off their fireworks and not have to buy any.

No I can't say I would go as far as to say war zones. Its a good time to celebrate our nation's birthday and only lasts for a few days, I can put up with it.

Well...since the 4th is on a Friday night this year...I wouldn't mind my neighborhood being like that. But then again...I'm a veteran of shooting bottle rockets and roman candles at all my good friends as a kid so I love that type of stuff.:P

May I also add...having them shot AT me as well...

Bottle rockets can leave a nasty scar.

Well, when I'm at home, my wife has to reign me in because I'm always 'that guy'.

Firecrackers, mortars, rockets, you name it I usually have some of it.

My kids work at a fireworks stand in the summer, their bonus is all the stuff that is left over. Last year we shot off about $1K worth of motars, buzz bombs. etc in our
neighborhood. We block the streets and have at it. It's a hoot!
