Well, yeah, to Philly, but really, Pittsburgh's are better! LOL! The Zambelli fireworks people are from New Castle, near Pittsburgh. It's awesome to see the fireworks at the "Point", choreographed to music. (The point is the junction of the three rivers.)

Interesting -- Zambelli are the same folks who are contracted for Philly, too. Anyhow, I'm sure the Pittsburgh setting is very lovely, but it just seems more symbolic to witness fireworks in the place where our nation's history was made.

I know how leery people get about lists, but here are a few:

Best Fourth of July fireworks - Seasonal - MSNBC.com

Fireworks Displays and Shows Worldwide.

Best Fourth of July Fireworks Shows in America - Associated Content

Chicago has an amazing display out on gorgeous Lake Michigan. If youre fortunate enough, you can be out on a boat, taking in the magnificent skyline from the lake, with the fireworks as a beautiful added bonus. Not to mention the free weekly fireworks at Navy Pier. Good times!

A&E simulcasts Boston's fireworks show nationally every year. We must be doing something right.

I will say my first negative thing about Indy (on this forum, not that it matters) right here. The fireworks show downtown, very dissapointing. I went to Nashville a couple of times, they blow us out of the water!

Thanks for those links, duderino. I saw one of them on MSN last night, but it was gone this morning (from the main page, anyway). The Zambelli's just generate a lot of local pride in Pgh.

One time, I was flying into Chicago on July 4. The plane had to circle O'Hare for quite a while, and I got to watch the fireworks over lake Michigan. It was cool!

In Chicago, Navy Pier has fireworks displays every wed./sat.. It kinda takes some of the fun out of July 4th festivities. Imho. I mean every wed. nite, come on. It's that really necessary? Damn tourists! LOL!
