I think the post and the map are both ridiculous and I thought that copyrighted material wasn't allowed to be posted on this site ?

I was thinking the same thing. Not really the Confederate part though.

That's my nickname for Vermont. New Hampshire is "Gnu Hamster" while Maine is "Mane". Remember these states are largely rural in nature.

Southern New England is as follows. "Taxachushettes" everyone knows. Rhode Island is "Road Island" because of the high population density. Connecticut I cannot mention because this is a family forum.

I might add that I am a native of the Nutmeg state and some of us try to keep a sense of humor about things. We try not to take ourselves too seriously like some people at least.

Perhaps there are invasion plans currently on the table that we've yet to hear about. The German people still are not all that fond of us and would like nothing better than to knock us down off the top of the shelf and replace us as the premier world power.

I don't think Oregon has ever had serious designs on independence but there is a tiny movement to create a new nation called Cascadia out of all or portions of the northern California, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, British Columbia and possibly Alaska, particularly along the coast.

After the Lewis and Clark expeditions, Thomas Jefferson suggested the founding of The Republic of the Pacific.

A nation made of all the states and provinces that border the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence River and it's gulf and the Red River (of the north) would be a mighty powerhouse of industry and agriculture.

I would love to see Cascadia created. That would be such a great country.
