Back in the 70s, I remember a couple of gas stations converting to liters. What a mess. I quit buying there because I didn't understand it nor did I want to. Lots of people didn't like it. Guess what, they switched back to gallons when sales decreased. My dad's opinion on the whole thing was that it was a ploy to confuse people into paying more money. I did the math and sure enough, the equivalent price per gallon was higher than it had been the previous day; I guess my dad was right.

This and any other metric system idea in the USA is a BAD IDEA!!!!!!!! leave the metric stuff to Europe
