Texas is the greatest state known to mankind. The climate & scenery here is the best, many worlds better than NC or CA. Housing is so cheap and jobs are so plentiful you'd think they're actually giving it all away to anyone. And you who say we have high property taxes is lying. Our red voting habits ensure we pay no taxes at all. We also have absolutely no problems that the other states have such as crime, lack of education, teen pregnancy and rates of preventable chronic disease. I have never visited or lived in other states, but trust me when I say they are not worth a second of your time!

So you disagree with me, huh? Looks like it's time to get another rope.

(**humps the Texas flag**)

This poll is a joke. Just because a state has the most jingoistic residents doesn't make it the best. It's making up for deficiencies, IMHO.

I had to look this up.. Thank you.. I learned something today!

Quote:
Jingoism is defined in the Oxford English Dictionary as "extreme patriotism in the form of aggressive foreign policy".[1] In practice, it refers to the advocation of the use of threats of or actual force against other countries in order to safeguard what they perceive as their country's national interests, and colloquially to excessive bias in judging one's own country as superior to others.

There is a serious problem with this poll. It will definately be biased. You are posting it in a forum with the vast majority of posters happy residents of Texas. We are naturally going to say yes.

Sure Texas has problems, name one place in the world that doesn't. I feel personally that its the best place for me, and judging by how I see the results eventually turning out, I think the rest of the majority will say the same.

And, yes we are jingoistic. Oh well. I think we earned that right in 1836.
