I really should visit Omaha someday. If nothing else I'll have an ear of corn with Go Ne while he tells me about how awesome the pedestrian bridge is.

You keep bringing it up so it seems you are the one with the obsession.

i've noticed the obsession of people from texas, particularly houston, with 'numbers'. people from chicago as well, but not as much. what's with the insecurity? here are the facts:

USA Urbanized Areas: 2000 Ranked by Population(465 Areas)

i don't care if it's a 2000 census... it's not about population, it's about density. this site says it all. enough said!

still obsessed with numbers? let me talk about MY region, shall we? .....if i include san diego and orange county urban areas as one, that's about 5.5 million people in a 1200 square mile area... the only separation is camp pendleton... if you throw in los angeles and the inland empire, SoCal has an "urban" area of 16 -18 million peeps. in the end, the number does NOT matter, it's the quality of life of the region

Anyway, commentary:

I'm really happy for them! I'm so glad that the city is recovering.

And I'm probably going to get killed for this question, but in all likelihood, it is going to happen: How long do you guys think until Houston becomes #3? I think 10-15 years. Maybe sooner if growth rates change.
I agree. 10-15 years, and Houston will top Chicago. It's inevitable at this point.
