^^I live in Pennsylvania. What do I like? The city feel, the grassroots culture, and the international diversity of West Philadelphia. As far as natural beauty is concerned, the entire eastern US kind of lacks.

have you ever even been outside of Philly? Have you ever been to Upstate NY, VT, NH, ME, MA, CT, RI, and even other parts of your own state. I'm pretty sure you've never been to the Blugrass country of Kentucky, or the mountains of WV, the Shenandoah Valley of VA, the Great Smokies, or nothing for you to make an ignorant statement like that....you need to get out more

I've been all over the east. I've also been all over the west. i've lived on both coasts. Anything the east does, the west does better, bigger, and more beautifully. Perhaps this is why the west has nearly a hundred national parks and the east has only 7. Have YOU been to CO, NM, UT, CA, OR, WA. Have you seen Yosemite Falls? Have you been down into the Grand Canyon? Have you hiked the Rocky Mountains? Have you walked on the Oregon beaches? Seen the Redwoods? Perhaps you could name a feature (maybe two) in the east that is as beautiful as these places. I assure you, the Bluegrass country is not.

Its all a matter of opinion. A good, trained eye and an open mind can find beauty anywhere. Sure, the east doesnt normally have as the elevation nor geographical differences like the West, but there is TONS of beauty to be found in the East.

Did you forget about the Appalachians? Catskills? Adirondacks? Smokies? Cumberland Gap? Mammoth Cave? Florida's beaches? Niagara Falls? Green Mountains? Black Hills? Great Lakes? Ozarks?

I was saying that because you said the ENTIRE eastern U.S lack natural scenery, which is a pretty foolish statement to make. even though FL IMO is the least scenic state there is, I can still find areas of Florida that are beautiful. I guess to you beauty is only mountains and beaches(which the east coast has, btw)

And to awnser, yes I've been to all those place you mentioned. And I still find the Bluegrass Section of KY beautiful, the Great Smokies are beautiful as well, Upstate NY is beautiful as well

Ok...

I, uh, stand up then. There's one vote for IL! lol

Seriously, I love IL for several reasons. My biggest dislikes for this state are the housing prices in Chicagoland, taxes and COL. OTher that than, I really enjoy living in the area.

I live in the middle of Nebraska, and I like the low cost of living, lack of crime, and our family is here.
