I live in New Hampshire. These are my favourite things about it:

-the beautiful four seasons: a snowy winter, a mild and beautiful spring, a warm but not unbearable summer, and an incredibly spectacular autumn

-85% of the state is forest, making it the second most-forested state in the US (after Maine)

-the overall ruralness of the state, and the lack of many cookie-cutter developments and sprawl you see in other parts of the US

-the sense of history, from the old, winding roads to the abundance of 17th-19th century architecture

-the White Mountains, which are arguably the most impressive in the East

-our Atlantic seacoast, with its rocky shores, lighthouses, and sandy beaches that are covered by snow in the winter

-the lack of a sales and state income tax, and the overall "live free or die" Libertarian mentality

-clam chowdah, lobstah, mmm...

-all of the charming New England towns and villages, built upon the importance of community and self-sufficience

-the proximity to all of the other New England states and Canada

-the proximity to exciting international cities like Boston, Montreal, and Quebec

-all the French-Canadian influence, including the presence of French as the second most-spoken language

-the power to have some influence in the national election

-the incredibly low crime, the high standards of education, and good health care

-all the wildlife: moose, bears, loons, etc...

-it's just dang beautiful

-the wicked great New Englanders who live there

I think it's very interesting that some pictures of Kentucky were posted, showing no more than some grassy hills and horses, and the post received numerous replies exclaiming extreme and stunning beauty. However, when pictures of the west were posted, showing spectacular images of some of our flagship national parks and physical features, it receives no replies. No admissions of beauty. Could it possibly be that the grand canyon is no more spectacular than horses and grass? Or is it possible that people must find any beauty they can in an entire half of the United States which is sorely lacking.

And, no offense, but those pictures of Pennsylvania are not particularly spectacular. They're nice, yes. But every state has rivers and trees and hills. Not every State has things like this:

Kentucky:

I like the natural beauty, Ale-8-1, and my family.

None of those things are keeping me from leaving by the end of the year, though. So, I guess my favorite part of Kentucky will be (and already is, imaginatively speaking) seeing it in my rear-view mirror!

Please, do us a favor and move west. And preferably into the mountains where there is no internet connection so we dont have to hear such nonsense.

Thanks and have a nice life.

To each his own. I don't necessarily think "bigger = better." I prefer the gentle rolling green mountains of Pennsylvania to the high-spired craggy peaks of the West. If waterfalls are your thing, then you'll love my upcoming Ricketts Glen Photo Tour, in which I photograph a 94' high waterfall, the largest in a series of roughly one dozen.

That's rude. All I've done is express my opinion. If you disagree, I'm more than willing to hear your opinion. But I don't really understand the problem of arguing my point of view. Perhaps you could explain this to me, since you seem to have a problem with it.
