What are some good safe southern cities?

I've just been browsing some of the southern states and most of the cities all have very high murders, is there any city in the South that is the opposite? Im just curious.

I was reading the places rated almanac, and even the authors of the almanac stated that there is a strong correlation to heat and violent crimes..

There are three strong factors for violent crime:
1. Lower Economic conditions
2. Higher Heat
3. Lower Education rates

I haven't seen the numbers lately, but I do believe that over time, Charlotte has generally had a high murder rate. Raleigh, on the other hand, has quite a modest crime rate for a city over 300k.
