I've lived in Indianapolis, near Detroit, the Washington DC area, and now Phoenix. Indianapolis was actually the best when you consider cost of living, balanced econ, friendly people, big enough to have a 'city' feel with plenty to do but small enough where you dont have the traffic and crime headaches of the very large cities. Indy is often underrrated. DC was OK too. I dont care for Phoenix very much.
