Boston, MA
Lowell, MA
Saint Augustine, FL
Danbury, CT
Manchester, NH
Syracuse, NY (possibly moving there for job soon)

I consider Boston my 'home town', although the others were certainly liveable and pleasant enough.

I've lived in/near:

Indianapolis, IN
Detroit, MI
Sterling, VA (Washington DC area)
Phoenix, AZ

The best was Indianapolis and the DC area. The worst is Phoenix, by a mile, for many reasons.
