We come to Texas on a family visit and wantto bring some small gifts from Germany where we live. What would you like - something you can't get in the US? Some sorts of Chocolate, jam, food stuff? I heard that chocolate really tastes different in the US as compared to UK or Germany.
Thanks for the ideas! So half a case full of chocolate it is then! Wish I could help with the health care system, have made sure I have a really good travel insurance before we leave Germany too.

I don't know where in Texas you're going, but Lindt and Toblerone are sold just about everywhere in the US. Good Swiss chocolate is available just about everywhere. And I'm sorry, but our jam is just as good as anything you can get in Germany particularly since most supermarkets here also sell excellent French and British jams.
However, you might want to bring some German spice cookies or honey cakes that we can't get here in the US.
A nice, authentic beer stein would be a nice gift.
