This is a series of short broadcasts NPR did in February of this year with some interesting topics:

- Segregation in America since 1960
- Portland's ability to attract young people despite a lack of jobs
- Continuing diversification of Washington D.C.
- Why immigrants are finding jobs quicker than Americans in Phoenix

Enjoy

The one on Phoenix doesn't necessarily make it's case though younger workers are at an advantage for blue collar work. Competition for jobs and differences in pay definitely has created tension here though among blue collar males more than anyone else.

The Portland one is really interesting too. When I went there it did seem really all white to the point it was strange and new for me( and I'm white). Portland definitely offers a lot of the things young white culture loves and that probably isn't a draw for some brown and black people.
