I'll leave it up to the regular room mods if they want to shut this one down or not, so as not to step on anyone's toes, but yeah, I'll have to say it's a pretty "doof" question to ask.

I live in the South, where off-color humor is actually
a lot more common (and accepted) than it is on the West Coast. I can see where a more PC crowd in the West would be upset at this (especially those who actually live in the L.A. area).
Let's just assume for a moment that a city like L.A. would be flattened without loss of life (which of course would be impossible). But - let's assume...
Considering the fact that most major American companies have their main offices in either L.A. or NYC, the impact to the U.S. economy and disruption to business if either of these cities were hugely impacted by disaster would be
enormous. Many of these companies haven't kept up on the times with off-site daily backups, either. Look at what happened when the twin towers were attacked - so many of those companies in there were main office locations with NO off-site backups, and they just simply went under at that very moment. Credit card companies, banks, investment groups... the list goes on.
So, even those who really hate L.A. and love to playfully pretend it falls into the ground had better hope NOTHING like that really happens. Otherwise, even if you're in Omaha, trust me, your daily life is gonna suck after that. We won't even start on how well the Feds and FEMA would be able to handle it considering much of the Gulf Coast still looks like a 3rd world country three years after Katrina, either.
