Frankfurt is a world finance capital with tons of skyscrapers and the largest commercial airport in Europe, one of the busiest in the whole world. I cannot think of anything it shares in common with Omaha except that neither has a reputation for excitement.
Must you always shoot down my comments? Sorry you hate Omaha but you can't always shoot down positive comments about Omaha.
Scranton would probably be closest to a smaller version of Birmingham, England. Birmingham was once known as the "workshop of the world" and was a very important player in the Industrial Revolution, much like Scranton, which was also a very powerful city in its heyday. The population of Birmingham peaked around 1950. Scranton's population peaked just before that. Naturally though Scranton has a fraction of the violent crime that Birmingham is afflicted with.

Thank you! That was a head-scratcher for me. I was also considering a city in Ireland, since Scranton has one of the largest concentrations of Irish-Americans in the nation (over 30% claiming themselves as being of Irish descent in the 2000 census), but I thought Birmingham had more of a nitty-gritty image.
