Hey, at least I was wire runnin' on stuff that was tested for weld integrity rather than just running some beads on easy stuff.

Indoor manufacturing facilities almost always rely heavily on mig though just from a cost/speed standpoint. I've done a few projects with stick building storage racks in MS. Definitely a little more "welding" involved.

I will take visiting Chicago in the winter in the fiercest blizzard over visiting Phoenix or Vegas in the 6 or 7 months where it is 110+ outside (or any other time of the year!)

I lived in Galveston during the summer and yes the heat and humidity was horrific. That's why I can't understand why Houston has suddenly become a mecca for new residents. I hope they have taken care of the flood problems that they had 30 years ago.

One other thing that makes me vote for heat. Its hot most of the day, but when the sun sets, you can relax outside with temps moving down 20 or 30 degrees. You also have 3-4 hours in the early part of the day that are quiet easy to deal with. In cold, if the high is 20 degrees, its not going to warm up when the sun goes down, basically making it miserable 24/7. Thats one of the biggest reasons I think the heat just doesn't seem so bad to me. I just moved back to TX from TN, and just the winters in Knoxville were a bit cold for my taste and it never got in the single digits. I just hate cold weather.

The thing about it is that who wants to visit Chicago? It's just another city when it's winter time.
The short time that I lived near Chicago was also one the best times of my life. Chicago has everything from quaint neighborhood bars ( which we don't have here in Phoenix) to several of the best museums ever congregated in one area. The sights of the city during winter will leave you in awe. Great town.

Well, its only 110 a handful of times on average in PHX or Vegas in summer. Last year PHX broke a record with 33 days of 110 degree (or higher) temperatures. UGH. I was there for 5 of them, it was horrid. Dry heat or not, it was horrid. Yes, give me cold weather any day over that junk, you just cant do anything about it. I can dress for 20-30 degree weather here, spend 8+ hours out in it, and actually sweat if dressed warm enough.

I agree with you 100%. I have lived in both and 100 degree heat is miserable! You just need to know how to layer in the winter and your all set! Summer heat-- there is nothing you can do to combat that. And even 3 showers a day will not make a difference.

I can't choose. Either extreme is miserable for different reasons.

The sun attracts millions upon millions of sun worshippers worldwide. Blizzards and snow attract a selected few.
