1. Houston- From what I observed, race isn't even an afterthought there, let alone an issue. Almost any ethnic group is there and there is a lot of representation of most groups in all social classes.

3. Orlando (area) tie- Well integrated and a pretty wide array of ethnic groups but perhaps due to it's transient nature
3. Ft. Lauderdale (area) tie- Some segments of the black community are isolated, but generally pretty good. Low Asian population.
4. Tampa- See Ft. Lauderdale except add element of isolation to some of the Hispanic population.
5. Charlotte- Tops on integration, but would rank higher if it had more Hispanic and Asian population.
6. Raleigh (area)- Generally pretty good, but lots of isolated pockets of Hispanics (largely illegal).
7. Miami (area)- Integrated, but not a melting pot, more like a salad bowl. Minuscule Asian population and small US born population.
(there is a major cutoff from here)
8. Jacksonville- There is definitely a difference between the north side and the south side, not a lot of non-white representation in "better" neighborhoods.
9. Virginia Beach (area)- Not really segregated, just not too diverse.
10. Atlanta- To be fair, some areas could easily rank up with the top 5 but not as a whole. Racial relations aren't too good on all sides.
11. Nashville- Wouldn't be fair for me to comment beyond, but just my initial impression.
12. Columbia, SC- Same.
13. Charleston, SC- What is it 1960?
Don't know enough about New Orleans to rank, but I think Houston is by and far the winner.
