Question What is the worse thing to smell in your neighborhood

What is the worst thing that could operate near your home?

A cow farm
Manure manufactoring plant
Paper Mill
Waste Water Treatment
Other?

Where I'm at now, the worst smelling things are skunks and bears. Both smell terrible, though for different reasons. As far as worst smelling things that could possibly be in the area? Well, the worst that I've had the pleasure of smelling is the Harris Ranch feed lots down I-5 near Kettleman City. It's nasty, and the smell just wafts over the landscape for miles around.

This is true. I would put a dog food processing plant up there and a Brewery where they cook the Hops.

We have a pay lake down the street from us and apparently they dump the dead fish ion the ditch line. Thankfull it's far enough for me that it doesn't stink too bad but for people directly in front of it, it is AWFUL in the summer!

It might surprise you what some people would consider a bad smell- I wouldn't mind living next to this company, but apparently his neighbors don't like the smell of coffee....

The wastewater treatment center in West Chicago smells horrid in summer... I dont know how people can live right across the street from it. BLECH!

A deer thats been hit by a car and has been rotting in the sun for a week on the side of the road also invokes chunks.

I would say nothing thanks to my neighbors having nice gardens. However, there are much worse noises than smells.

Some people complain about the Blommer Chocolate Factory in Chicago, too. I like the smell, myself.

An industrial hog farm smells FAR worse than a cow farm. Cow farms smell like manure. Hog farms smell like s&%#.

There's a chicken processing plant in my home town. At certain times of day, they spray chicken waste onto the fields that surround them. Those are some noxious times of day.
