I will take the density anyday. I'm so unhappy right now living in Hampton Roads sprawl. I miss riding the trains, walking, people watching etc. I miss having 3 grocery stores, cleaners, bars, all within reach or if I'm going into the city, I can just get on the train and go about my business.

I live in a dense city neighborhood where the houses are close together, but still have small yards. There is a very large central business district in the neighborhood, and everything is walkable. It contains two theaters, a large grocery store, many small food stores, delis, bakers, bars, etc. This is my preference.

I also like small towns that are walkable. I just dispise suburbs where they are built around driving and a homogenous feel. I perfer any town of any size that is "real" and walkable.

I like my 0.13 acre spread. Anything less and I'd feel claustrophobic, any more and I'd be doing too much yard work.

Sometimes I'd think I'd love living in the country, on 5 to 10 acres, but something about the idea makes me feel vulnerable. Maybe I've read In Cold Blood too many times.

Spread out for me please. I have 1/2 an acre in town and it is the smallest I would like. Smaller than I wanted, but the location and price made it impossible to pass up. If I could find 160 or more acres out of town, that would be perfect.

Ah, the movie 'In Cold Blood'. The original from 1967 - one of my favorite movies.
