In his second posting (#6 in this thread) the OP says, "Believe what you want to believe." He wants to believe that the major cities in the United States are doomed and going to collapse. I suspect that he doesn't live in any of them. I also suspect that he can't control his anti-urban bias.

But he can certainly follow his own advice, and believe what he wants to believe!

This only makes sense if it was posted no later than the early 1990's which it would be reasonable. Only a few cities are in any risk now and now it is more inner-ring suburbs that are the highest risk.
