Yes, I'll be sure to take a report about something that hasn't happened yet seriously. After that I'll use the writings of Nostrodamus to live my life by.

What premise is it you're basing your conclusion on?

If you're laughing at the latter, you should reconsider. New York was infested with crime 30 years ago. Now it's the safest major city in the country. It has some of the most incredible projects in the world getting ready to be built (New WTC, Hudson Yards, Atlantic Yards, MoMA).

What's not better about New York City?

By the way, this topic is absolutely ridiculous.

What are we supposed to be weeping about? At least three of the four cities are projected to have population increases since you created this topic...

A complete mess? Murders from 2004 to this point in 2010 are down 53% on average from where they were in the 1990's. Violent crime is down a whopping 65%. There has been a media sensation the past few weeks about crime, which is making people who don't really know much about it think this year is unusually crazy or had some insane spike in crime or something.

It's funny that this dude comes onto this site like once every 5 months, proclaims he's right, then disappears while everyone kind of looks around at one another being like "huh, did that just happen?"

Sorry Tombo, but you're about on the same level as the whack jobs on the streets yelling that the end is near.

See ya in a couple months!

I was in Chicago in the late 80's and 90's back when crime was more than twice what it is now. Tom bates doesn't have a damn clue what he is talking about. I wonder what motivates him ...
