I am remembering the day by trying to be nice to the folks I see as I ride the subway and walk to and from work in my hometown of Baltimore. I remember how we were as Americans after that tragedy. We were together, regardless of color or economic background or political view. I want to relive that. As you enter Maryland on the interstates, the welcome signs say, "Please drive gently". I love those signs and will try to follow that thought as I go throughout my day.

I agree. But, forget him. Life goes on and there is always one out there.

I recently watched United 93 (the movie) and I have to say, that it is the saddest, most depressing, scariest movie I have ever seen. I don't know how true it really is, but it really made me think more about the events seven years ago today. Thousands of people died for absolutely no reason at all, and even more lost a beloved family member or friend. My heart was pounding through the whole movie, and although I found it interesting, I regretted watching it after I was done. I guess I am just not able to handle the truth. It was absolutley heart-breaking.

I'm gunna find some r@gheads to hunt - NO just kidding

I think it's important to remember how great it is just to be alive and stop worrying about all the stupid day to day stuff. The people trapped in those sweltering buildings would have given anything for one more normal day, the same normal day all of us seem to take for granted

Yes, life does go on but for friends and family that have lost someone to soon you know that it goes on just a bit differently than it did before. You are grateful for the time that you had with them but there is always that ache inside of you for the person that you lost. I didn't lose anyone in the attacks but I did lose a sibling very suddenly so I understand how hard the anniversary of a death is. I think on a human level we all lost part of ourselves that day. I know I did. How anyone can live through that time in our history and not be changed even a little bit is beyond me. It was devestating to see such suffering and loss of life. It also made me incredibly proud to see the bravery of the firemen, policemen, and just everyday citizens who sacrificed so much to save lives. So today I guess I am trying to focus on the good and say a prayer for those that lost so much.

I guess you're right, Jonjj. I'm sorry for swearing, but I'm not sorry about being angry. Krudmonk, what you said was sickening and imagine if you're father was leaving to work before you go to school like any other day and then a couple hours later the teacher sits the whole class down and calmly telling us to pack our bags, not to worry about the homework, and catch the bus home and then walking in the door and seeing your mother crying because your father left you a message saying goodbye. This exact thing happened to thousands of families and 343 FDNY firefighters and 23 NYPD police officers that day and you try and make a joke out of it, Krudmonk. Sickening.

I laid a rose this afternoon at Rancho Santa Margarita Lake next to the tree and plaque dedicated to Lisa Frost who was on United Airlines 175 from Boston to Los Angeles. I didn't know her, but I think it is important to support the family of the only person from South Orange County who died on that sad day. Apparently other people did too as a few other RSM residents were there and about 150 things were left at the plaque. I sat for about five minutes and reflected and then thought about how thankful I am for my life and the health and life of my kids and husband. God bless you all.
