Hi,

I just moved to the area last Tuesday (
Bellevue) and was lucky to be met a day later with a blocked toilet that is clogged farther down than a plunge or snake can fix. Yay, what fun! Anyhoo, I was hoping some of the locals would be able to recommend a reliable, licensed and insured plumber that they have worked with before and that has reasonable rates.

Any help is muchly appreciated!!!

What area? Look in the Yellow Pages for Roto Rooter or ask a neighbor for a recommendation.

Plumbing work is not inexpesive. You don't mention what area you are in but any contractor that has a license will be able to help you. And the fact that they are licensed means you have a guarantee on the work. Rates will vary between companies but a licensed outfit has to charge enough to make it worthwhile. Clogged toilets and drain lines are nasty, smelly and generally unpleasant and companies have to have employees vaccinated against hepatitis and such so the guys can work with raw sewage and other nastiness and that all costs money. Bear that in mind when comparing rates. It can also be difficult to give a price on ANY job sight unseen due to the unknowns that are always there so a blind price is subject to be a bit toward the high side. Good luck.
