Actually the Washington, DC metro area isn't on Google Streetview either, along with Memphis and Birmingham.

From Wikipedia:
"Google has delayed the release of its street views of the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area out of concern from the United States Department of Homeland Security that some of the images taken may be of security-sensitive areas"

I don't know why Seattle isn't on there yet

Poor Seattle

Even the Mojave Desert and middle of nowhere of California got covered. They have Kramer Junction, CA which is essentially a town that is just one enormous solar power plant in the middle of nowhere but they can't get Seattle???
