P.S. and everybody thinks Texas is the **** mainly Houston (no offense).
I also will say that you must NOT read a lot of posts because, out of all the cities in the US, New York, Chicago, LA, AND Houston get picked on the most.

Most of it is because many people call the big 3 (or 4 if you will) "overrated", and like discussing why they think they suck.

So I don't think that LA is the only city that gets picked on.

There are definitely beautiful areas of Cali. There are also ugly areas of Cali.
Personally I prefer the east coast.

I've actually been to Cali-actually traveled through there, I think Continental or American uses it as a sort of hub or at least has nonstop flights from the US to there.

In City-Data world, There's only a big 3,Houston isn't considered 4th Biggest city and NYC,SF and CHI to some extent are the best places to live and on the level of Tokyo,London, and Paris.

That's what I got out of this forum.

LA is the most picked on city in America. Always the whipping boy for immigrant-haters, people who bemoan the ills of Hollywood and the very essence of suburban sprawl to most. Ironic cause LA is more densely populated than most places in this country.

SF on the other hand, is really hated by lots of right wing neo cons and evangelicals. I cant think of a city that is evokes so much negative emotion. I think its because SF is too far ahead of its time.

I think all states have their own great little niches. The laid back beach lifestyle in parts of California, the fast paced city life of Chicago(Illinois), the hospitality of southern states like Georgia. We are all great in some ways.
