Looking for this criteria, maybe somone can put me the right way.

Some acreage for a decent price
Lake front preferred with boat dock but stream, or small river acceptable
Beautiful weather (some snow is ok). Humidity is looked down upon.
Near a big city or cities
Around good jobs
No harsh natural disasters like earthquakes, forest fires, hurricanes, or major floods.
Scenery! Lots of woods, water, and things to do like canoeing, kayaking, white water rafting, hiking, and other misc. exploring.
Convenience with a city nearby that has shopping, movies, and a decent music scene for underground and mainstream.

Cities/States in consideration:

Spokane, WA (or surrounding area)
California
Idaho?
Colorado?

good luck avoiding natural disasters in those states..or any state. you might have to move outside the USA if you want all of those criteria met

A lot would depend on what you do for work also. All those can be found in the SW corner of Michigan if you have the right job skills. In fact the entire list can be filled all along the West side of Michigan if you have the right job skills.

Except for the big city part, Maine pretty much fits your criteria. The availability of jobs will depend largely on what you do for a living, but Portland and Bangor are the best bets for jobs. Portland is the largest with a population of around 73K.

Outdoor activities abound and there are plenty of lakes to choose from as well, obviously, as the entire coastline.

Austin, TX sounds like it could be a good fit for you (although you didn't say you were considering Texas).
