Hello i am from Chicago and my trip to san diego was very disappointing heres why. The city was very Ugly when the plane landed is san diego all I saw was smog horrendous nasty smog. I don't know why everybody says san diego has clean air but it's not clean it's brown and ugly. The only nice part of san diego is the west side as for all california cities san diego west side is the only attractive place because they have downtown, La jolla, and coronado, point loma, Del Mar the only nicest places but when you go out of san diego west side, it's ugly centrall places like escondido to the north and chula vista to the south of san diego or hideous why does everyone praise this city it's just like L.A. spring valley was even ugly that's to the east. Encinitas ugly, rancho bernardo ugly, Otay ugly the whole city is unattractive the only nice side is the west side like I said. The surfer culture her is dead nonexsitent the beaches are ugly and not clean the water is not clear the beaches feel like slime and theres lots of garbage in the north south and east counties. and I talk to locals and they say they want to move out so san diego is fake. San diego is really decentrallized as well with no sence of urban planning to many mexican being adjacent to the border and this place has a bunch of chollos which is mexican ganasters and just basically this city is overrated. P.S. this city is allso boring as Hell.

I am doing this because evrybody things san diego is a good city when it's just one big fake ugly city with only one nice side that's west san diego.

here's some pictures of my horrible trip:

Is it just me, or does someone "new" always come in here to talk about how overrated and ugly and horrible San Diego, New York, Chicago, Miami, etc are? Give it a rest!

I think it's probably overpriced as far as real estate.

Maybe not overrated for travel, though.

Those are probably some of the worst neighborhood scenes in SD.Unfortunately in other cities those photos would represent some of the more stable hoods.

I ran into Larry Bowa(MLB manager) a few years ago in a local coffe shop where he lives outside Philly. I asked him what was the best city in the USA.? Now heres a guy that has been in every major city dozens and dozens of times during his life. He told me in his opinion without a shadow of a doubt San Diego, nothing else remotely compares to the overall package.

I find SD underrated at least from an east coast point of view.

Dude, your pictures suck. You practically had to go out of your way to find some ugly picture to take. The way you just described SD sounds a lot more like LA to me than SD. Every single time I've been to San Diego (5 times now) I've been blown away and didn't want to leave. Here are my pictures I took on my last trip down there:
Images of San Diego.
