No ghetto is worse or safer than another. The hood is the hood whether its in Boston, Washington, DC, NYC or New Orleans.

From the map you can gather that NYC has more safer areas than LA, and that is the difference in crime rate.

So you can say:

NYC has more safe areas than Los Angeles.
Thank you

Anyway we can either continue this in a new thread (NYC vs LA) or continue here.
A ghetto is still a ghetto!

Aren't all cities unique?? How many other Chicago's are there, or NYCs. Heck I could go so far to say that nothing compares to a small city like Fargo, ND and I would still be right. All cities are uniwue, and all cities share some common things. In the end every city and town in America has it's own footprint and I stand by that.

lol ...so then why did East Harlem (which you're reffering too) have the highest crime rate in NYC last year and had 1,600+ crimes per 100,000, which would have landed it in the top 5 in the US crime rates. Why did Central and West Harlem have crime rates above 1,400.... again in the top 15-10. Before you say it's small population, Harlem has over 350,000 residents...bigger than alot of the cities on the list.

The only part of Harlem that has been gentrified is a little portion called Manhattanville. The vast majority of Harlem is still the hood. If you dont believe me, go visit. And if you're too lazy look at a recent Harlem video:

Go to Harlem on some next **** and get your **** pushed back.

I have a aunt and uncle with children who live in harlem. I visit them like every weekend. I have other family members who live and lived in harlem. And i travel around the whole island of manhattan alot. Also after they gentrify harlem crime will go down no worries and i want to know where are you getting this from. How recent do you think those clips are and im not talking about when he added the video im talking about where he gathered everything. Still hood right. Go to 125 street you should know and they are planning to put Macys, hotels, office, condos, another movie theater, and more stores in east harlem. Here is a mall they are building in harlem with a target, marshalls, home depot, bestbuy, and there was going to be a costcos but they are putting something else. http://www.eastriverplaza.com/homepage.html http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcp/home.html http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcp/html/125th/index.shtml

Here are some condos in east harlem. Also brownstones in Harlem are going for 1 million dollars and old and/or burnt down buildings are be converted or being torn down to for condos. There are condos in harlem i know about that i cant find the website for or they dont have websites.
