There are kids in China who don't get to live and travel wherever they want.

I was basically called a "community killer" by a user because I wanted to be able to travel wherever I wanted to travel and ot have race be a factor. According to this user, I am considered selfish because he feels as if people should have the freedom to set up laws barring people of certain ethicities from living or traveling there. This user felt that it was a way to "keep order". I feel like that is something from the 1950's and I sure don't want that.

I wouldn't let a faceless troll on the internet affect you. Life is too short. Go where you want when you want as long as you can.

I'm not seek ing to open a can of worms, but part of the reason is that in the old days there were such places as "sundown towns" where race decided if you could live there or not. What do you think?
I dont understand the logic in why it would be selfish to live/travel where you want. I mean, we all work for ourselves. We dont, and lets not get into the issue of people on government programs, get any financial support from other people. I dont see Bill across the street, across town, in the next city/state, paying any of my bills or giving me money without due consideration. So excuse me if I dont take other peoples advice into consideration when traveling/living in a certain area.
But by definition, I guess you can characterize it as selfish since you are not taking others into consideration.

However, I think it is extremely more selfish for some ******* to tell me that I cant live in a given area, or visit "his" city, and generally enjoy his town like he is. Who are these people, assuming that they exist, to tell me that I can't live/travel there? Why do they feel like they have an input in my life when they do contribute to my well being? That, is worse than being selfish.

I don't think it is selfish to travel and live where you want. This is the thread I was discossing it from and I just decided to start my own thread.

A dying city?
A dying city?

I do believe that in the subject of human nature, many people tend to gravitate to where they are comfortable and want to be around people like themselves. I don't believe in making a place a "sundown town" or barring someone from living there because of ethnicity or race.

You should live wherever the hell you want! I grew in a super multi-ethnic area and we focused on how good people were as neighbors and not their demographic attributes. Go for it!

I don't see how anyone would say that it is selfish to travel where you want. This sounds utterly ridiculous. I go wherever I feel like, but only go where I have an interest to go or where my life won't be in danger.

We can visit Cuba...we simply have to have a passport, Cuba-issued tourist card and enter Cuba from a departure city outside the U.S.
