West Virginia: 1.8 million people, 6 last names!

West Virginia: Park your home here and stay awhile

Virginia: No, it's not the same as West Virginia. Really. I swear it!

Maryland: We have crabs

New Jersey: We're full. Come back later.

Rhode Island: What we lack in size we make up for in corruption

Welcome to South Dakota: Contrary to popular belief Mount Rushmore is actually here.

Welcome to South Dakota: No we don't store Mount Rushmore somewhere in the winter. It's a mountain.

Welcom to South Dakota: Yes, you'll probably meet the guy who put up this sign during your visit here.

Default Iowa's motto

I lived in Des Moines, IA for almost 50 years. Now I live in East Peoria, IL.

Anyway, Iowa wanted to change its motto a few years back. People wrote in; many of the suggestions were humorous.

My favorite: "Iowa: Nebraska minus the glitz"

Now of course, that wouldn't be a good motto for any state. But if you could come up for a motto for your state, what would it be?

Let's see, for Texas, our new motto should be:
"Texas: The Unofficial Independent Nation"
