When I have a 3 day weekend I go:
-driving in the Black Hills
-to the ski resorts
-to Mount Rushmore to "play tourist"
-hiking
-biking
-to the lake
-to Denver for some real shopping

Or I usually just sleep all day at home and watch TV. I often don't get errands done either. Sue me.

I live in the Eastern part of Ohio half-way between Cleveland and Marietta, and for our 3 day weekend, we have Cleveland, Columbus, and Pittsburgh for cities, Hocking Hills and McConnel's Mill for hiking. Cedar Point, Kings Island, and Kennywood for amusment parks. Theres also fun things to do in Coshocton, Ohio and Wheeling, West Virginia. Even closer, I have Amish County on the other side of I-77.

From San Diego, the wife and I go to Laughlin, NV. It's a bit more than 2-3 hours (about 5). Las Vegas is about the same distance, but there are fewer people in Laughlin.
