Someone mentioned in another thread how you rarely hear a southern..
Accent in Atlanta,Charlotte or Dallas.
Im curious what the ratio of natives/transplants is in these cities and..
Peoples viewpoint on this.

The big cities in the south do still have people that have an accent but it's not as common as you would hear in the small towns.

Atlanta like the other Southern big cities is still southern despite what the "traditional Southern zealots" say. Larger cities in the South are too transient to fit the mold of your Savannahs and Charlestons. I do know that the bigger cities have people from other regions who settle down and have Southern kids with weak accents and no drawls and (some) people mistake that for non-southern.
