My family and I are wanting to relocate out of Los Angeles. We love the looks of N. Carolina, Texas Hill Country, Tenn. and ? We are looking for a medium size city, low crime and family oriented communities. Do not care for long harsh winters, love the sunshine. Kids love to snow board though! I am an R.N. and my hubby is a plumbing contractor. We have 2 teenagers that will be in college next year where ever we move. Not interested in a 1 truck stop town, but not a Los Angeles either. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks

We moved to Monument,CO from San Marcos,CA 3 years ago. I would recommend a look. Monument is a small town on the north side of CO Springs and about 35 miles south of Denver. The schools are desireable and there are lots of trees and open land. Weather is not like SoCal, but if you can make it through 3 months of winter, the other 3 seasons are very nice. Snowboarding is much better in CO . Check the Colorado and Colorado Springs forums.

How about Austin, TX or Atlanta, GA? Both have what you're looking for and neither has a long winter.
