I think at this point all major metros have a pretty significant regional shopping destination; if not more than one

The New York Metro has 4 Malls that rank among the top 20 in the U.S..

Top 4 Mega Malls:
Roosevelt Field (#8)
Palisades Center (#10)
Garden State Plaza (#13)
Green Acres Mall (#18)

*Green Acres really surprised me because, it was always big but I didn't know it ranked near the top, I always saw it as "the mall" that's 3 miles away, I'd count it as an "almost Mega Mall"*

There's also:
The Walt Whitman Mall
Queens Center Mall (among the top grossing in the U.S., I'd count it as an "almost Mega Mall")
The Source Mall
The Short Hills Mall (among the top grossing in the U.S.)
Kings Plaza
The Manhattan Mall
The Staten Island Mall
The South Shore Mall
The Sunrise Mall
Atlas Park
I could keep going but I think people get the idea...

The Streets of Buckhead and the Midtown Mile are currently under construction and will resemble the likes of rodeo drive and Michigan Ave. And when complete will def. give Atlanta the edge in it's region when it comes to shopping.

Also, there are plenty of 30K millionaires in the Atlanta area, as there are anywhere, who patronize even the most exclusive stores in Phipps, regardless of whether or not they can really afford what they're purchasing.

Right, but Lenox and Phipps are two different malls. Therefore, no Atlanta area malls qualify as having the nation's largest floorspace.

Not true at all. You have clearly never been Rodeo Drive, 5th Avenue, Scottsdale Fashion Square, Michigan Avenue, Worth Avenue, South Coast Plaza, or any of the major casinos in Vegas.

I don't doubt that all of those malls you listed are nice, I just know that they're far from the nicest in the country.

I know this was posted earlier, but here is the current list according to wikipedia. They say King of Prussia in suburban Philly is bigger than Mall of America in Bloomington, based on some technicalities though.

Yeah it doesn't take into effect the indoor Amusement Park.

MOA will soon be king again, once the expansion starts.
