Default What Southern state is the most country

What southern state do you think is the most country in your opinion? Such as thick southern accent, southern hospitality, food, and other stuff that is southern.

Hmmm! Good question! And I gotta confess (as a Southerner) this un' whupped my butt. I really, truly, just dont know which Southern state is most "country". Good music, food, manners, hospitiality...?

I would like to claim to title being Texas. But when it come down to it? That's only cos I am from here and am biased. Them Mis'ippi and Arkinsaw and Virginny folk might disagree....

Sooooo? I give up! Which 'un is it?

Don't hold out on us, yank, pleeesir?. Give us the answer! We in the South has been waiting on this Revelation since 1865...

I dont really think of cities and being country in the same sentence, to me they just dont go together, maybe Mississippi since there are no big cities and they still have that strong tradition.

Yeah...Texas isn't really southern and most of the big cities aren't particularly "country."

Beg to differ, dear. There are PARTS of Texas that are decidedly western. But there is a large part of Texas that is Southern.

Besides, they fought in the War of Northern Aggression. That means they're in the club.

So says the woman from the state that started the whole thing!

From one Texan to another, Stan? Texas IS Southern. And even the "western" parts" of it, are "Southern" in essence...and "country" at heart.

Soooo, my counter-question to the yankee OP's still stands. The feller asked it, so must have the answer.

Which Southern state IS most country? I nominate Texas. We say breakfast, dinner, suppertime and please and y'all come back with the best of 'em from the southeast! By gawd and high cotton and catfish!
