Butterfly: I will go over there and see but since he's had no luck here this is for sure an opportunity of a lifetime. I am going to university to study nursing because i want to have a proper career and hopefully use it when i go to live in the US.

So we'd be earning a combined income of $130,000 approx. Could we have a good life? I would NOT be earning that here

First...are you planning on qualifying before you leave or are you going to study there, because it's gonna be a few years before you graduate. I thought you said sometime back that he had been offered a job here.

I don't know anything about Wy, but have been to various parts of Colorado and Utah on several occassions and although I don't like cold weather Colorado is a place I would live if I had to...some parts are breath taking. Not much going on in Wyoming from what I gather, but that's based on my lifestyle, your's might be different. I always remember poor Matthew Shepherd whenever I hear of Wyoming.

That's true but the roads are considerably different as is the weather. I-70 to Denver does get closed during Winter months and if it isn't closed you can have hideous delays getting thro places like the Eisenhower Tunnel. Trust me, waiting 2+ hours at the bottom of a 5-6% grade hill is no fun when it's snowing and freezing outside the car. If you avoid the interstate and go north on Hwy 13 you're driving thro the Rockies and it's mostly a single lane route - altho it's apparently absolutely stunning in the Summer and Fall. Austin to Dallas is I-35 and it's mostly flat, right?

Okay, so I used an extreme example, but it can be like that. I have a close friend with family in GJ and she's done that drive 100s of times from just north of Denver and it has taken her 4 hours to get there! Most of I-70 is only 2 lanes wide and if you get stuck behind an 18-wheeler or RV or there's a bottleneck at the Tunnel . . . well, you get the picture. On the other hand, it is a beautiful drive even in Winter - when the road and weather are clear. And if you like to ski I-70 will get you to almost every resort in Colorado, incl Breckenridge, Aspen, Vail or Winter Park.

I think i'll stick to CO

I come from Scotland and im near Glasgow so I do enjoy going out to local pubs when im off and socialising. I also enjoy shopping, just getting out. I would like to live in a town with lots to do. I am an outdoors person too, I love to hunt, fish, hike. I don't think i'd like WY. I suppose we could look at other towns in CO.

I'd be qualified here (hopefully) before i made the move.

Not being funny, if you are not going to live in Grand Junction, I would either live in the Denver Suburbs or Utah.
