Illinois - I like cities. The City (ies) in Illinois far beat those in Arizona. If i wanted to live in the country, id live in Arizona though! Much more naturally pleasing

Arizona, hands down. I just spent most of the last four years in Tempe and had a great time living there, despite the heat. But the only places I would live in AZ are Phoenix (metro area-- including Scottsdale, Tempe, etc), Tucson (metro), Flagstaff, or Sedona. If the choice was between, say, Bullhead City or Yuma and Chicago I would pick Chicago.

I'd choose IL. I don't think I could take the dry heat of AZ, my skin and nose get really dry whenever we have strong Santa Ana winds in San Diego and I don't think I could handle 6 months of dry heat like that. Although I'm not sure how well I could handle the long winters of Illinois either, but it would be cool to experience 4 seasons so I would try to adapt.

Plus with a megacity like Chicago, I would much rather live in that type of place than Phoenix. Plus AZ is like Southern CA and I would like to experience something different.

I think I'm qualified to answer since I've lived in both...

They're both great regardless of either candidate
