Not just MN. They do it in Montana, also. They have a problem with elongating vowels.

I just ordered food from a girl who said her name was May-gee. Not Maggie. May-gee. She'll probably ask me if I want it 'to stay' or 'to take away', to which I'll respond 'to-go'. Then she'll put it in a 'sack' or 'bayg' for me.
