If an unpopular place with a generally bad reputation fits your criteria, would you recommend it, or stick with the higher-rated places?

Of course I would because there is so much ignorance on these forums concerning many cities. I know when I give a recommendation I am doing so without biases and because I have been to most of the cities in the US. I have been fortunate enough to have been able to do alot of traveling and am very happy to have had these experiences.

I would say everyone is biased to some degree...
But i wouldn't mind recommending an unpopular area if it fits your criteria.
But many people are very arrogant here, including me to some degree...
but don't let it get to you.

There are only a handful of cities here that don't rate as "unpopular."

You mean like NYC and SF and SD? I never understood all the fuss about SF, I would choose San Jose or Oakland over it if I had to live in the Bay Area

I'd reccomend anywhere that fits the criteria and I have found personally enjoyable. Sioux Falls is bashed regularly as a "small town" in the middle of nowhere, but if someone likes things that the place has, I'd strongly reccomend it. After all, plenty of people hear attach themselves to a hatred of a certain Nebraskan city that doesn't deserve the smearing.

Yeah, if my experience has been positive, I'll recommend it.

If the city seems to fit them, I'll recommend they look into it.
